History of Neon Lamps

On the highways of big cities in Indonesia and in our world a special light bulb. Generally called fluorescent lamps. The working principle is to continue the flow of electricity through gas. First discovered by Peter Cooper-Hewitt in New York in 1903. In the lamp he put a liquid metal like mercury. The mercury is converted to gas and will ignite if an electric current flows into it.

The color of the light is beautiful bluish white. A French developer named Dr.Georges Claude invented neon gas and was able to separate neon from the air. This fluorescent gas will light up when electricity is applied to it. Now we meet everywhere, even at night in shops, restaurants and cinemas illuminated by fluorescent lights in various colors.

The working principle is the same. Inside is coated with a chemical powder. Then given an electric current so that it glows. For that it takes a little electrical. Therefore, it is widely used everywhere.
